Job Description

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our engineering team as a Paid Intern - 2D and 3D Draftsman. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry, focusing on drafting and design.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and designers to develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and models of small industrial motors and related components.
  • Utilize industry-standard CAD software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks, to produce accurate representations of engineering designs.
  • Interpret engineering specifications, sketches, and technical documentation to generate precise drawings that adhere to quality standards and specifications.
  • Engage in team discussions to review and refine design concepts, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Support the modification and enhancement of existing designs based on feedback and project needs.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive input on design optimization and improvement.

Experience Required

• Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program, such as Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, at a local high school, vocational school or college.
• Proficiency in 2D drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD) and 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks).
• Strong attention to detail and precision in drafting and modeling tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Demonstrated eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tackling challenges.
• Prior coursework or internship experience in drafting and design is advantageous, but not mandatory.
