Waubonsee Community College Automotive and CTE Open House with Signing Day, Akerlow Hall
Approximately 500 VALEES regional high school students interested in the automotive, auto body repair, automation, machine tool, welding, CAD/drafting or HVAC programs attend an open house style event with their high school or career center counselor or teacher.
Faculty are on hand to discuss program opportunities, business and industry representatives have tables to discuss career and employment opportunities, and Waubonsee support service departments are on hand to help answer new student, financial aid, scholarship, etc. questions.
Manufacturing partners are invited to have a table to explain their career and employment opportunities. This is NOT a job fair. Companies will speak to students that are graduating in May and potentially looking for employment or apprenticeship after graduation but will also speak to younger students. Companies in the VALEES region are preferred.
