GCAMP is confident and up to the challenge to find new ways to partner with manufacturers, educators, municipalities, and associations to build a sustainable manufacturing workforce in the Golden Corridor.
Like most organizations, many of our spring events were cancelled, but not before a few successful events were held:
- D211 GEMS event, (Girls interested in Engineering, Math and Science), at Conant HS.
- D214 Robot Rumble (both D211 & D214 participating).
- Spring GCAMP Manufacturing Breakfast hosted at Wheeling High School.
- Fall 2019 Manufacturing Breakfast hosted at Schaumburg High School.
The past few months have kept GCAMP busy connecting with our partners in manufacturing and education:
- Working with students and companies on summer internships and employment.
- Planning for the remainder of 2020 and first half of 2021.
- Updating the website with new resource pages www.gcamp.org. Not only for educators and students,
- but for upskilling company employees as well.
- Adding an area to host student resumes for future interns, apprentices, and future employees.
- Plans for a manufacturing job board.

- Connecting companies with students through project-based learning experiences.
- Creating an “Order to Production” weekly company overview for Manufacturing classes.
- Providing virtual visits for students as well as companies.
- Virtual introductions of students to employers virtually.
