Along with everyone else, manufacturing companies were forced to pivot during the pandemic. In order to survive, they made tough decisions and found new ways to do business. In many cases, the solutions they found worked well and are now their preferred way of business. That same mentality of problem solving and finding new approaches should be applied to adapt training, manufacturing programs and internships. ​​

​Spring is coming, and that means there are literally thousands of high school seniors who will be graduating in May. Many of them are not sure where they will land in terms of jobs for the summer. Chances are that most do not even realize the great career training opportunities that await them if they only could be made aware. That is where manufacturing companies come in, and GCAMP can help!

Apprenticeships have become an answer to many manufacturing companies struggling to fill positions. Most apprentices commit to an employer for three to five years. Long-term this results in on-the-job-training coupled with some classroom related instruction.

​Local apprenticeship programs are housed at many of our local community colleges. Additionally, trade associations like TMA, as well as the German American Chamber of Commerce serve to support the success of these programs . We encourage manufacturers to partner these types of organizations to train and develop young adults.
